Do you accept insurance ?
Healing Foundations Therapy does not directly accept insurance. Clients are responsible for full payment at the time of services.
However, some clients submit services statements to their insurance and receive reimbursement.
For potential clients wanting to submit statements to insurance, it is each person's responsibility to understand individual coverage. These people are advised contact their insurance provider and confirm out-of-network mental health benefits.
We are happy to discuss this further with you, help out regarding understanding coverage/benefits, and give you additional information.

Length of therapy typically depends on the client(s) and their reasons for coming to therapy. Some clients find benefit after only a few sessions, while others may continue therapy for a several weeks, months or years. This is completely up to the client and would be something we would discuss together and continue checking in about.
Clients are always free to end therapy at any point.
What can I expect getting started ?
The first step is to set up a free consultation to discuss your needs and address any questions. After an initial conversation, if you decide that you would like to work with me, we will schedule our first session.
How much does therapy cost ?

I currently only offer therapy to clients in Oregon.
If you are seeking therapy in another state, feel free to reach out and I will provide a referral if I am able.
What is "therapeutic fit" ?
Effective therapy always entails a good relationship between client and therapist. This is sometimes referred to as "therapeutic fit". It is incredibly important and if at any point you find that it isn't feeling right, I will make appropriate referrals to help you find another therapist.
What happens if I want to stop or pause therapy ?
You are always free to stop therapy at any time with or without a reason that you share with your therapist. If some life circumstance causes you to want to pause therapy for a period of time, this is certainly an option, as well. Depending on the length of time, we would discuss whether it makes sense to pause or end therapy. Many clients find a natural stopping point either because they have addressed the issue that originally brought them to therapy, or due to a natural life transition point.
We can discuss this at any time.
How is my privacy protected in therapy ?
As a client, your privacy is protected in several ways. The information that you disclose in therapy is completely confidential. There are a small number of extenuating circumstances to this confidentiality that we would talk about in detail at the very start of therapy. Additionally, your personal data is protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which, despite the name, applies to both those using insurance and not using insurance to pay for therapy.
